Description

Angiotensinogen (1-14), human TFA is a fragment of the renin substrate angiotensinogen. Angiotensinogen is naturally occurring substrate for renin and a precursor for all angiotensin peptides[1][2].

IC50 & Target[1][2]

Human Endogenous Metabolite

In Vitro

Angiotensinogen (AGT) is the only precursor of all angiotensin peptides. Human AGT has 485 amino acids, including a 33 amino-acid signal peptide. The 10 N-terminal amino acids are cleaved by renin to provide angiotensin I (AngI), which is the source for an array of active angiotensin peptides[1].
Angiotensinogen isolated from most species is cleaved by human renin. Synthetic peptides containing the N-terminal amino-acid sequence of angiotensinogen were renin substrates[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
