In Vitro

H-Phe-Phe-OH (Phe-Phe) is a peptide made of two phenylalanine molecules. Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid and the precursor for the amino acid tyrosine. It is the precursor of catecholamines in the body. The psychotropic drugs also have phenylalanine as a constituent. The H-Phe-Phe-OH recognition motif of the Alzheimer's Abeta peptide is the smallest peptide able to assemble into higher -order structures[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
