Reverse RAS Recruitment System

Definition:

Reverse RAS Recruitment System is used to study interactions between membrane proteins and cytoplasmic proteins, widely applied in signal transduction and cell proliferation research. The bait is a membrane protein (e.g., a receptor or channel protein), and the prey is a fusion protein with a cytoplasmic Ras sequence. When they interact, Ras is recruited to the membrane and activates downstream signaling pathways. The experiment is conducted in yeast strains with temperature-sensitive Ras mutations to prevent spontaneous cell growth.
