RNA Interference

Definition:

RNA Interference is used to study gene function through gene silencing and is widely applied in genetic screening and pathological research in organisms like plants, fungi, and nematodes. RNA interference (RNAi) induces specific degradation of homologous mRNA through double-stranded RNA (dsRNA). The dsRNA is cleaved into short interfering RNA (siRNA), which is loaded into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), where the antisense strand of siRNA guides the recognition and cleavage of target mRNA, achieving post-transcriptional gene silencing.
