Scintillation Proximity Assay

Definition:

Scintillation Proximity Assay is used to measure the interaction strength between a ligand and its potential binding partners. When a labeled ligand binds to beads containing fluorescent groups, the binding amount of the radioactive-labeled ligand is measured using a scintillation counter. This method can also be used to estimate binding affinity, enzyme-catalyzed substrate cleavage, and modification of residues.
