Definition:

Split Luciferase Complementation Assay uses the C-terminal of luciferase protein fused with the target protein to study protein-protein interactions or functional recovery. The split luciferase regains its activity upon binding, and the luminescent signal is used for quantitative detection, widely applied in the study of receptor-ligand binding and signal transduction.
