Yeast Surface Display

Definition:

Yeast Surface Display is used to study molecular binding properties by displaying proteins on the surface of yeast. It is commonly applied in antibody screening, receptor-ligand interactions, and drug development. By fusing a protein secretion signal sequence, proteins are displayed on the surface of the yeast S. cerevisiae. Although the method is limited by the low efficiency of the yeast display system, it can be combined with cell sorting technologies (such as FACS) to isolate cells displaying specific binding properties, enabling efficient screening.
