CA5A Protein, Human (His)

Cat. No.: HY-P76753
COA Handling Instructions

CA5A protein is a mitochondrial carbonic anhydrase that catalyzes the reversible conversion of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate/HCO3, providing essential bicarbonate for mitochondrial enzymes. Impermeable mitochondria rely on CA5A to support enzymatic reactions critical to intermediary metabolism, including the urea cycle and the Krebs cycle. CA5A Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived CA5A protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-Met, C-His labeled tag.

Description

CA5A protein is a mitochondrial carbonic anhydrase that catalyzes the reversible conversion of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate/HCO3, providing essential bicarbonate for mitochondrial enzymes. Impermeable mitochondria rely on CA5A to support enzymatic reactions critical to intermediary metabolism, including the urea cycle and the Krebs cycle. CA5A Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived CA5A protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-Met, C-His labeled tag.

Background

CA5A protein is a mitochondrial carbonic anhydrase crucial for the reversible conversion of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate/HCO3 within the mitochondria, as indicated by its catalytic activity. Given that mitochondria are impermeable to HCO3, the role of CA5A becomes pivotal in supplying bicarbonate for various mitochondrial enzymes. These enzymes are integral to the synthesis of essential metabolites in intermediary metabolism, particularly in processes such as the urea and Krebs cycles. The activity of CA5A underscores its significance in maintaining the metabolic integrity of mitochondrial functions by facilitating the availability of bicarbonate for key enzymatic reactions.

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O.

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
