IGFBP‐2 is a member of a family of six insulin‐like growth factor (IGF) binding proteins. IGFBP-2 is the second most abundant IGFBP in the circulation and binds IGF-II with higher affinity than IGF-I. IGFBP-2 has been implicated in the regulation of IGF activity in most tissues and organs. IGFBP‐2 is involved in regulation of insulin-like growth factor receptor signaling pathway[1][2][3][4].

Biological Activity

Measured by its ability to inhibit the biological activity of IGF-I on MCF-7 human breast cancer cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.03282 µg/mL in the presence of 14 ng/mL rh IGF-I, corresponding to a specific activity is 3.047×104 units/mg.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O.
