Description

Neurofilament light chain polypeptide (NEFL) is a part of neurofilaments that, in cooperation with NEFM and NEFH, form the structural basis of neurons. It maintains neuronal caliber and assembles filamentous networks with PRPH and INA.Neurofilament light polypeptide/NEFL, Mouse (His) is the recombinant mouse-derived Neurofilament light polypeptide/NEFL, expressed by E.coli , with N-His labeled tag.

Background

Neurofilament light polypeptide (NEFL), a component of neurofilaments, typically collaborates with the intermediate filament proteins NEFM and NEFH to maintain neuronal caliber, forming a structural foundation in neurons. In conjunction with neuronal intermediate filament proteins such as PRPH and INA, NEFL may participate in the assembly of neuronal filamentous networks. In vitro, NEFL demonstrates the ability to form homodimers and engage in heterodimerization with NEFH or NEFM, further forming hetero-oligomers. Additionally, NEFL forms heterodimers with INA. Its interactions extend to regulatory relationships, as evidenced by its association with ARHGEF28 and TRIM2, emphasizing the intricate molecular interplay involved in shaping neuronal structural integrity.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
