SLAMF2/CD48 Protein, Mouse (216a.a, HEK293, Fc)

Cat. No.: HY-P74543
Handling Instructions

CD48 (SLAMF2) is a member of the CD2 subfamily of immunoglobulin-like receptors, it is held at the cell surface by a Glycosylphosphatidylinositol GPI anchor via a C-terminal domain, and interacts with cell surface receptors including 2B4/CD244 or CD2 via its N-terminal immunoglobulin domain to activate the LCK pathway and regulate immune cell function and activation. SLAMF2/CD48 Protein, Mouse (216a.a, HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant mouse-derived SLAMF2/CD48 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-hFc labeled tag. The total length of SLAMF2/CD48 Protein, Mouse (216a.a, HEK293, Fc) is 216 a.a., with molecular weight of ~63.7 kDa.

Background

CD48 (SLAMF2) is a member of the CD2 subfamily of immunoglobulin-like receptors which includes SLAM (signaling lymphocyte activation molecules) proteins. CD48 is found on the surface of lymphocytes and other immune cells, dendritic cells and endothelial cells, and participates in activation and differentiation pathways in these cells.
CD48 does not have a transmembrane domain and is held at the cell surface by a Glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor via a C-terminal domain which maybe cleaved to yield a soluble form of the receptor, while CD48 interacts with cell surface receptors including 2B4/CD244 or CD2 via its N-terminal immunoglobulin domain to regulate immune cell function and activation.
CD48 participates in T-cell signaling transduction by associating with CD2 and efficiently bringing the Src family protein kinase LCK and LAT to the TCR/CD3 complex, in turn, promotes LCK phosphorylation and subsequent activation.
CD48 also induces the phosphorylation of the cytoplasmic immunoreceptortyrosine switch motifs (ITSMs) of CD244, initiating a series of signaling events that leads to the generation of the immunological synapse and the directed release of cytolytic granules containing perforin and granzymes by T-lymphocytes and NK-cells [1][2][3].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
