Background

TMPRSS1/HPN, a serine protease, is involved in the cleavage of various extracellular substrates, contributing to the proteolytic processing of growth factors such as HGF and MST1/HGFL. Beyond its role in growth factor regulation, TMPRSS1/HPN plays a significant part in cell growth and the maintenance of cell morphology. Additionally, this protease is implicated in the proteolytic processing of ACE2, emphasizing its involvement in crucial cellular pathways. Notably, TMPRSS1/HPN mediates the proteolytic cleavage of urinary UMOD, a process essential for the polymerization of UMOD, underscoring its multifunctional role in modulating various biological processes.

Biological Activity

Immobilized Human HPN, His Tag at 2 μg/mL (100 μl/Well) on the plate. Dose response curve for Anti-HPN Antibody, hFc Tag with the EC50 of ≤20.0 ng/mL determined by ELISA.

Greater than 95% as determined by Tris-Bis PAGE.

Appearance

Lyophilized powder.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 20 mM NaAc,150 mM NaCl (pH 5.0). Normally 8% trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.

Endotoxin Level

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

Reconstituting to a concentration more than 100 μg/ml is recommended. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 20 mM NaAc,150 mM NaCl (pH 5.0).

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
