Stearic acid-PEG-amine, MW 2000 is an amphiphilic PEG polymer which forms micelles in an aqueous solution. The terminal amine can react with an NHS ester to form a stable amide linkage. The aliphatic chain of stearic acid can be used to encapsulate or congregate hydrophobic therapeutic agents while the PEG chain enhances overall solubility of the polymer.
