Description

2,6-Di-Tert-butyl-4-methylpyridine is a biochemical reagent that can be used as a biological material or organic compound for life science related research.

In Vitro

2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylpyridine is used for the generation of enol triflates from ketones using trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride. It is also used in the synthesis of 1,2-dihydro-2-silanaphthalene derivatives, as base in PtCl4-catalyzed cycling reactions of homopropargyl azide derivatives and in diastereoselective synthesis of β-thiomannopyranosides.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
