Description

6-Formylpterin is an inhibitor of Xanthine Oxidase. 6-Formylpterin induces intracellular ROS generation and apoptosis in HL-60 cells. 6-Formylpterin suppresses cell proliferation in PanC-1 cells[1].

In Vitro

6-Formylpterin (2 mM) generats intracellular ROS in HL-60 cells[1].
6-Formylpterin (0.5, 1, and 2 mM, 3 h) increases intracellular H2O2, which induces apoptosis in HL-60 cells and Jurkat cells [1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
