AC-90179 is a selective 5-HT2A receptor inverse agonist (Ki = 2.1 nM) and 5-HT2C antagonist, a potential antipsychotic compound[1].

In Vivo

AC-90179 (1-10 mg/kg i.p., 30 min) completely reversed the DOI (0.3-3 mg/kg i.p., 15 min)-induced suppression of response rates, whereas at lower doses of AC-90179 (1 mg/kg i.p., 30 min), only partial reversal of DOI-induced inhibition was observed in C57BL/6 mice[1].
AC-90179(1 or 3 mg/kg s.c.) can attenuate phencyclidine (3 mg/kg i.p., 15 min)-induced hyperactivity of NSA mice[1].
