Description

Aldicarb sulfoxide is a metabolite of Aldicarb. Aldicarb sulfoxide affects the glutathione-linked enzymes in CHO-K1 cells. Aldicarb sulfoxide inhibits cholinesterase (ChE) and carboxylesterase (CaE) with IC50 of 10 μM for both in zebrafish[1][2].

IC50 & Target

IC50: 10 μM (zebrafish ChE); IC50: 10 μM (zebrafish CaE)[2]

In Vitro

Aldicarb sulfoxide (10 μg/ml; 24 h) decreases the glutathione (GSH) concentration in CHO-K1 cells by 13.34%[1].
Aldicarb sulfoxide (10 μg/ml; 24 h) increases glutathione reductase (GR) activity in CHO-K1 cells by 101%[1].
Aldicarb sulfoxide (10 μg/ml; 24 h) increases glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity increased in CHO-K1 cells by 32%[1].
Aldicarb sulfoxide (0.2-300 μM, 48 h) induces the increase of heart rate at low and decrease at higher concentration in zebrafish embryos[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
