Description

MRC1 Antibody is an unconjugated, approximately 160 kDa, rabbit-derived, anti-MRC1 monoclonal antibody. MRC1 Antibody can be used for: WB expriments in human and rat background without labeling.

Background

The recognition of complex carbohydrate structures on glycoproteins is an important part of several biological processes, including cell-cell recognition, serum glycoprotein turnover, and neutralization of pathogens. The protein encoded by The related gene is a type I membrane receptor that mediates the endocytosis of glycoproteins by macrophages. The protein has been shown to bind high-mannose structures on the surface of potentially pathogenic viruses, bacteria, and fungi so that they can be neutralized by phagocytic engulfment.

  • Western blot analysis of extracts from M-lymph (lane 1) and M-lung (lane 2) using MRC1 antibody. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% nonfat powdered milk in PBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/1000) and Loading control antibody (GAPDH, 1/3000) was diluted with 5% nonfat powdered milk in PBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (1/8,000) was incubated for 45min at room temperature.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
