Background

The related gene is a member of the synapsin related gene family. Synapsins encode neuronal phosphoproteins which associate with the cytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicles. Family members are characterized by common protein domains, and they are implicated in synaptorelated genesis and the modulation of neurotransmitter release, suggesting a potential role in several neuropsychiatric diseases. The member of the synapsin family plays a role in regulation of axonorelated genesis and synaptorelated genesis. The protein encoded serves as a substrate for several different protein kinases and phosphorylation may function in the regulation of The protein in the nerve terminal. Mutations in The related gene may be associated with X-linked disorders with primary neuronal derelated generation such as Rett syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
