STAT5: Enables DNA-binding transcription activator activity, RNA polymerase II-specific; RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity; and phosphate ion binding activity. Involved in growth hormone receptor signaling pathway via JAK-STAT and regulation of growth. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including animal organ development; positive regulation of leukocyte proliferation; and regulation of hemopoiesis. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system; and liver and biliary system.   Western blot analysis of extracts from 293T (lane 1) and K562 (lane 2) and HepG2 (lane 3) using STAT5 antibody. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% nonfat powdered milk in PBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/1000) and loading control antibody (GAPDH, 1/3000) was diluted with 5% nonfat powdered milk in PBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (1/8,000) was incubated for 45min at room temperature.
