Definition:

Amyloidosis, Finnish type (Meretoja syndrome) is an autosomal dominant form of systemic amyloidosis caused by a mutation in the gelsolin gene. It is characterized by lattice corneal dystrophy, progressive cranial neuropathy and systemic amyloid deposits.
