Open-angle glaucoma (OAG) is a chronic, progressive, and irreversible optic neuropathy. The optic nerve damage leads to an open angle of the anterior chamber, optic nerve head changes, loss of retinal ganglion cell axons, and progressive loss of peripheral vision, followed by central visual field loss.
