Surface Plasmon Resonance

Definition:

Surface Plasmon Resonance is a real-time, label-free optical technique used to study interactions between molecules. By monitoring changes in the refractive index of the surface due to molecule binding or dissociation, SPR provides kinetic parameters (including binding and dissociation rates) and affinity constants (Kd). This technology is widely applied in drug development, protein interaction analysis, and biosensor development.
