Definition:

Transketolase (TK) is a key enzyme in the pentose phosphate cycle and the photosynthesized reduced pentose phosphate cycle. Transketolase (TK) is important to maintain immune homeostasis and prevent autoimmunity in regulatory T (T_reg) cells.
