Biological Activity: HIV-1 inhibitor-21 (compound 9b) is a potent HIV-1 non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitor, with an IC50 value of 0.55 μM for HIV-1 RT. HIV-1 inhibitor-21 has antiretroviral activity against HIV-1 WT and K103N strains with EC50s of 12.7 nM and 10.4 nM, and has relatively low cytotoxicity (MT-4 cells CC50 =10.2 μM)[1].
