Description

CyPep-1 is a novel cationic lytic peptide with antitumor activity. CyPep-1 is highly cytotoxic by interacting with the negatively charged cell membrane of cancer cells. CyPep-1 has strong cytolytic activity on cancer cells both in vivo and in vitro, and can be used in the study of solid tumors[1].

In Vitro

CyPep-1 (0-40 μg/mL; 15-360 min) produces toxicity to tumor cell lines in a dose- and time-dependent manner, with little effect on normal cell lines[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

CyPep-1 (intratumoral injection; 1200 µg; single dose) has antitumor effect in mouse model of breast cancer[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: 4T1 murine metastatic breast cancer cells treated female BALB/c mice (average age 12625 days; average weight 23.8g)[1]
Dosage: 1200 µg
Administration: Intratumoural injection; single dose
Result: Did not cause any signs of discomfort, pain or toxicity.
Significantly reduced tumour growth and caused massive necrosis of the tumours.
Prolonged the median survival time of mice.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
