Methylergometrine  (Synonyms: Methylergonovine; Ryegonovin free base; Spametrin F free base)

Methylergometrine (Methylergonovine) is an orally active 5-HT_2B ligand agonist. The distribution half-life of Methylergometrine is only 1-2 min. Methylergometrine can be used as an oxytocin to treat uterine atony^[1][2][3].

Methylergometrine (0.2 mg/kg; i.v.; single dose) appears in the uterus, liver, and kidneys of rabbits with an average concentration of 34 ng/g, 80 ng/g, and 203 ng/g, respectively (30 min after administration)^[3].
