Description

Nasunin, an antioxidant anthocyanin, possesses antiangiogenic activity[1].

In Vitro

Nasunin at higher 10 µM suppresses microvessel outgrowth in an ex vivo angiogenesis assay using a rat aortic ring[1].
Nasunin suppresses HUVEC proliferation in a dose-dependent manner (50-200 µM)[1].
Nasunin diminishes LPS-induced nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activation by suppressing the degradation of inhibitor of κB-α and nuclear translocation of p65 subunit of NF-κB. Nasunin also attenuates the phosphorylation of Akt and p38, signaling molecules involved in pro-inflammatory mediator production[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
