1. Metabolic Enzyme/Protease
  2. Transketolase
  3. Oxythiamine diphosphate

Oxythiamin diphosphate is a potent transketolase (TK) inhibitor.

At equivalent molar concentrations, both the salt and free forms of a compound exhibit comparable biological activity. Nevertheless, the salt form (Oxythiamine diphosphate ammonium) usually boasts enhanced water solubility and stability.

Description

Oxythiamin diphosphate is a potent transketolase (TK) inhibitor[1].

IC50 & Target

Ki: 30 nM (thiamine pyrophosphate)[1].

In Vitro

Rat liver TK is inhibited at 50% by oxythiamine diphosphate in concentrations of 0.02–0.2 μM. I50 value of Oxythiamine diphosphate for yeast transketolase is approximately 0.03 μM[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
