Description

PBB3 is a tracer of tau PET. PBB3 can be used to detect levels of tau protein in Alzheimer's disease and non-Alzheimer's disease[1].

In Vitro

PBB3 (56.5 µM) labels Alzheimer's disease patient-originated brain pathological changes by fluorescent labeling[1].
PBB3 (56.5 µM) labels neuropil threads and plaque neurites in hippocampal derived from an Alzheimer’s disease patient[1].
PBB3 bound to primitive plaques, which is accumulation ofabnormally swollen neurites without cores of extracellular amyloid[1].
PBB3 clearly detects dystrophic neurites in brains of Alzheimer's disease and diffuse neurofibrillary tangles with calcification characterized by accumulation of all six tau isoforms[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
