Description

Pep63 is a neuroprotective peptide (VFQVRARTVA). Pep63 has a neuroprotective effect on synaptic plasticity and memory. Pep63 can competitively bind with Aβ1-42 oligomers, and can block Aβ fiber formation. Pep63 can be used for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research[1].

In Vivo

Pep63 can block the interaction of EphB2-ADDLs (Aβ-derived diffusible ligands) effectively and reverse impaired memory deficits in early AD mouse models by stereotactic administration into the dorsal hippocampus[1].
Transferrin-liposome is a carrier for the delivery of Pep63 to the brain by transferrin receptor (TfR)-mediated transcytosis[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
