Description

Psychotridine is a natural alkaloid isolated from Psychotria colorata, reveals an analgesic activity in nervous system and an inhibitory efficacy towards platelet aggregation[1][2].

In Vitro

Psychotridine inhibits platelet aggregation induced by ADP, collagen and Thrombin through an interaction with cytoskeletal proteins, with IC50s of 1.4, 1.4 and 3.9 μM, respectively[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Psychotridine (0-10 mg/kg, i.p., single dosage) exhibits in albiono CF-1 mice an analgesic activity in a dose-dependent manner towards pains induced by heat and capsaicin without motor deficits [1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: albino CF-1 mice[1]
Dosage: 0-10 mg/kg
Administration: i.p., single dosage
Result: Reduced the heat- and capsaicin-induced pain.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
