Description

Acetyl-CoA synthetase 1/AceCS Protein, Mouse (His) is an enzyme that converts acetate to acetyl-CoA, which supplies acetyl-CoA for tumor cells by capturing acetate as a carbon source under stressed conditions.

Background

Acetyl-CoA synthetase 2 (ACSS2), an enzyme that converts acetate to acetyl-CoA, imparts a competitive growth advantage under conditions of metabolic stress by enhancing the ability of cancer cells to use acetate as an additional nutritional source when other carbon sources are scarce or cannot be used to sustain lipid biomass production. The activity of ACSS2 contributes to cancer cell growth under low-oxygen and lipid-depleted conditions. The downregulation of ACSS2 expression is a metabolic hallmark of tumor progression and aggressive behavior in colorectal carcinoma[1][2].

Biological Activity

The enzyme activity of this recombinant protein is testing in progress, we cannot offer a guarantee yet.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
