Alkaline Phosphatase/ALPP Protein, Cynomolgus (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P700949
SDS COA Handling Instructions

Alkaline Phosphatase (ALPP) is an ubiquitous membrane-bound glycoprotein that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters at basic pH values. Zinc and magnesium are essential cofactors of ALPP. ALPP down-regulates the secretory activities of the intrahepatic biliary epithelium. Alkaline Phosphatase/ALPP Protein, Cynomolgus (HEK293, His) is the recombinant cynomolgus-derived Alkaline Phosphatase/ALPP protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag. The total length of Alkaline Phosphatase/ALPP Protein, Cynomolgus (HEK293, His) is 483 a.a., with molecular weight of 57-67 kDa.

Description

Alkaline Phosphatase (ALPP) is an ubiquitous membrane-bound glycoprotein that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters at basic pH values. Zinc and magnesium are essential cofactors of ALPP. ALPP down-regulates the secretory activities of the intrahepatic biliary epithelium[1][2][3].

Background

Alkaline Phosphatase (ALPP), a group of isoenzymes, are usually located on the outer layer of the cell membrane. ALPP catalyzes the hydrolysis of organic phosphate esters found in the extracellular space. ALPP is an ubiquitous membrane-bound glycoprotein that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters at basic pH values[1]. Zinc and magnesium are essential cofactors of ALPP. Besides, ALPP down-regulates the secretory activities of the intrahepatic biliary epithelium[3].
ALPs are categorized into 2 types: tissue-specific and tissue-nonspecific. Tissue-specific ALPs are exclusively present in the intestine, placenta, and germinal tissue. Under specific conditions, the tissue-specific ALPs may also contribute to the circulating pool of serum ALP. More than 80% of the ALP in serum originates from the liver and bone[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
