CD163 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P700669
SDS COA Handling Instructions

CD163 protein is pivotal in macrophages for clearing and endocytosing hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes, safeguarding tissues from oxidative damage. It contributes to iron recycling by facilitating complex endocytosis and heme breakdown, with calcium and pH influencing hemoglobin binding. This initiates intracellular signals involving tyrosine kinase, calcium mobilization, and cytokine secretion. The soluble form, sCD163, released through shedding, may have an anti-inflammatory role. CD163 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived CD163 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-His labeled tag. The total length of CD163 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is 1007 a.a., with molecular weight of 120-150 kDa.

Background

CD163 protein is intricately involved in the clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes within macrophages, serving a crucial function in protecting tissues from potential oxidative damage caused by free hemoglobin. Additionally, CD163 may contribute to the uptake and recycling of iron by facilitating the endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes and subsequent breakdown of heme. The protein exhibits a calcium-dependent and pH-dependent binding affinity for hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes, initiating a cascade of intracellular signals involving tyrosine kinase-dependent calcium mobilization, inositol triphosphate production, and the secretion of interleukin-6 (IL6) and colony-stimulating factor 1 (CSF1). Furthermore, the soluble form of CD163 (sCD163), released through shedding, may exert an anti-inflammatory role.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
