Gastrotropin/FABP6 is a fatty acid-binding protein also known as ileal bile acid-binding protein (IBABP). FABP6 directly controls the ileal bile acid transport system and is a potential immunotherapy target that is inversely associated with immune infiltration. FABP6 gene is differentially expressed between "hot" and "cold" tumors. Knocking down FABP6 can increase major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class 1 expression and promote the secretion of immune-related chemokines, enhancing the immunogenicity of tumor cells. sex. Inhibition of FABP6 expression in BC reduces the expression of p53, p21, CDK2, and CDK4, increases cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase, and therefore may inhibit autophagic flux, proliferation, and migration. Knockdown of FABP6 also inhibits bladder cancer (BC) cell motility by reducing focal adhesion complexes, or inhibits lung adenocarcinoma proliferation and migration.
