Background

IL-31 Protein activates STAT3 and potentially STAT1 and STAT5 through the IL31 heterodimeric receptor, which consists of IL31RA and OSMR. It has been suggested to play a role in skin immunity and enhances the survival of myeloid progenitor cells in vitro. IL-31 Protein also induces the expression of RETNLA and serum amyloid A protein in macrophages.
