COA Handling Instructions

PFKP protein, central to cellular energy metabolism, catalyzes the phosphorylation of D-fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate, initiating glycolysis. This key enzymatic step regulates glucose entry into glycolysis, initiating essential biochemical reactions for ATP and metabolite generation. PFKP's importance in orchestrating this process highlights its central role in cellular energy homeostasis and broader metabolic regulation. PFKP Protein, Human (sf9, His-GST) is the recombinant human-derived PFKP protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with C-His, N-GST labeled tag. The total length of PFKP Protein, Human (sf9, His-GST) is 784 a.a., with molecular weight of ~113.4 kDa.

Background

The PFKP protein plays a pivotal role in cellular energy metabolism by catalyzing the phosphorylation of D-fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate using ATP as a substrate. This enzymatic activity marks the initial and committing step of glycolysis, a fundamental pathway crucial for energy production. Through its catalytic function, PFKP regulates the entry of glucose into glycolysis, initiating a series of biochemical reactions that contribute to the generation of ATP and other essential metabolites. The importance of PFKP in orchestrating this key step underscores its central role in cellular energy homeostasis, emphasizing its significance in the broader context of metabolic regulation.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
