Human Trefoil Factor-3 is a regulatory peptide involved in mucosal protection and repair in the gastrointestinal tract. TFF3 is predominantly present in the mucous cells of the small and large intestine. TFF3 also has potential therapeutic role of in NEC^[1].

The ED₅₀ is <10 μg/mL as measured by human MCF-7 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of >100 units/mg.
