Description

Ru-TRZ2 is a potent ruthenium-based chemotherapeutic agent. Ru-TRZ2 induces apoptosis and necroptosis. Ru-TRZ2 shows antitumor activity[1].

In Vitro

Ru-TRZ2 (72 h) induces necroptosis with IC50s of 0.45, 0.24 µM for HCT116, HT29 cells, respectively[1].
Ru-TRZ2 induces mitochondrial depolarization and apoptotic cell death in HT29 cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Apoptosis Analysis[1]

Cell Line: HT29 cells
Concentration: 10 μM
Incubation Time: 24 h
Result: Induced apoptosis and increased the expression of cleaved PARP.
In Vivo

Ru-TRZ2 (5 mg/kg; i.v.; every 2 days for 10 injections) shows anti-tumor activity in HT29 xenograft mice[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: 8-10 weeks, Male nude mice[1]
Dosage: 5 mg/kg
Administration: I.v.; every 2 days for 10 injections
Result: Decreased the tumor weight in HT29 xenograft mice.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
