Description

Triethoxyoctylsilane is a compound used in plastic applications and can be utilized to produce waterproof coatings with hydrophobic properties[1][2].

In Vivo

Triethoxyoctylsilane (10 mg/kg, intratracheal instillation, single dose) does not induce significant lung toxicity in rats, only transient and reversible inflammatory response

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Crl:CD (SD)IGS BR rats exposed to TESO-coated TiO2 particles[1]
Dosage: 2 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg
Administration: Intratracheal instillation, single dose, followed by monitoring at 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months
Result: Induced transient pulmonary inflammation (10 mg/kg), characterized by increased neutrophils in BAL fluid, which resolved completely within 1 week, with no significant lung toxicity.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
