Description

alpha-2,3-Sialyltransferase (PmST3) (EC 2.4.99.4) is a beta-galactoside. alpha-2,3-Sialyltransferase (PmST3) catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid to carbohydrate groups of glycoproteins and glycolipids[1].

In Vitro

Product Information
This product is recombinantly expressed in E. coli, with a C-terminal His Tag, a molecular weight of 33 kDa, and a buffer composition of 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, and 10% glycerol. It can be used to connect sialic acid to the sugar chain with Gal as the non-reducing end in an α2,3 connection manner, and can also be used to add sialic acid to the non-reducing end of glycolipids.

Instructions
1. Add substrate according to the reaction system, 5 mM MgCl2, and appropriately add buffer salt (such as Tris-HCl), adjust the pH to 8.0, and add an appropriate amount of enzyme (according to the reaction requirements);
2. After mixing, incubate the sample at 37℃ for 2-4h.

Notes
When the system is scaled up, the incubation time or enzyme amount needs to be adjusted according to the actual situation, and can be mixed by low-speed oscillation.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

    Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
