Description

α-L-Fucosidase, Microorganism (EC 3.2.1.51) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction. Serum activity of α-L-Fucosidase, Microorganism, a lysosomal enzyme present in all mammalian cells, has been proposed as a marker of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)[1].

Product information
Molecular weight: 55 kDa (SDS-PAGE)
Isoelectric point: 6.2
Optimum pH: 7.5, pH stability: 7.0-10.0 (25℃, 16 h)
Optimum temperature: 80℃, thermal stability: stable below 90℃ (pH 8.0, 30 min)

Activity detection
1. Add 940 μL of 20 mM pH 8.0 Tris-HCl and 50 μL of 10 mM CNP-AFU solution (dissolved in DMSO) to a 1mL cuvette.
2. Preheat the reaction mixture at 37℃ for 5 min.
3. Add 10μL of the enzyme solution to be tested and mix well.
4. Measure the 37℃ reaction at 405nm and record the absorbance change (ΔAs) within 1 min.
*Use 20 mM pH 8.0 Tris-HCl to replace the enzyme solution. The other steps are the same. The absorbance of the resulting solution is the blank absorbance (ΔAb) ΔA = ΔAs - ΔAb

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
