In Vitro

Cefprozil monohydrate inhibits S. pyogenes, S. pneumoniae, S. agalactiae, S. aureus (methicillin-susceptible), H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, E. coli with MIC90s of 0.04, 0.23, 0.3, 1.4, 6.7, 4.5, 12.2 mg/L, respectively[2].

In Vivo

Cefprozil monohydrate (two doses, injection) exhibits antibacterial activity against E. coli, H. influenzae, K. pneumoniae, P. mirabilis, S. aureus (β-lactamase-negative), S. aureus (β-lactamase-positive), S. pneumoniae, and S. pyogenes in mouse models, with ED50s of 2.0, 3.1, 2.8, 1.5, 0.04, 18, 1.0 and 0.08 mg/kg, respectively[2].
