Description

Apstatin is a potent aminopeptidase P (APP) inhibitor with Ki values of 2.6, 0.64 µM for rat and human APP, respectively. Apstatin shows cardioprotection[1][2].

IC50 & Target

IC50: 2.6 µM (rat APP); 0.64 µM (human APP)[1]

In Vivo

Apstatin (1 mg/kg; i.v.; 5 min before ischaemia) reduces myocardial infarct size (IS) in acute myocardial ischaemia model[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: 270-310 g, Male Wistar rats[1]
Dosage: 1 mg/kg
Administration: I.v.; 5 min before ischaemia
Result: Significantly reduced infarct size (IS) in acute myocardial ischaemia.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
