Description

Endoproteinase Lys-C is a protease that cleaves proteins on the C-terminal side of lysine residues and is commonly used for protein sequencing[1].

In Vitro

This product can be used for: (1) protein sequence analysis; (2) synthesis of lysine-related derivatives.

Protocol
This product can be directly used for protein enzyme digestion. The recommended enzyme digestion ratio is 1:50-1:200 (W/W), and the enzyme digestion should be performed at 37 ℃ overnight.

Notes
( 1) The optimal reaction pH of this product is 9.0-9.5, and the optimal reaction temperature is 30-37 ℃. It can still maintain high enzyme activity in the presence of 4 M urea or 0.1% SDS.
( 2) Storage Buffer: 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH=8.0.
( 3) Do not freeze and thaw repeatedly.

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
