Description

HMBR is an analogue with an additional methyl group on the aromatic ring and is non-fluorescent. HMBR conjugated with Y-FAST emits yellow fluorescence under blue light excitation (Ex= 419 nm; Em= 525–539 nm). HMBR is non-toxic to zebrafish embryos. HMBR has high cell permeability[1].

In Vitro

HMBR was incubated with EcN (Escherichia coli Nissle 1917) carrying pQE-FAST and HBR-3,5-DOM at room temperature, and fluorescence of activated EcN-FAST could be detected through either the eGFP or mCherry channel[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

HMBR (100 μl 5 mM, oral) fluorescently activated EcN-FAST, and the intestine was collected 5 h after administration, and the overall fluorescence intensity was recorded by IVIS imaging[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
