Description

Methyl maslinate is a β-adrenergic antagonist. Methyl maslinate is a potent cardiotonic and antidysrhythmic agent. Methyl maslinate has the potential for hypertension research[1].

In Vivo

Methyl maslinate (MM) (20-60 mg/kg; i.p.) shows significant, dose-dependent vasodepressor effect and sinus bradycardia, lasting more than 60 minutes with a maximum at 20 minutes, and shows potent hymodynamic effect[1].
Methyl maslinate (40 mg/kg) shows antidysrhythmic activity on ischemia-reperfusion dysrhythmia[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Wistar male rats (300-320 g)[1]
Dosage: 20-60 mg/kg
Administration: Intraperitoneal injection; once
Result: Showed significant, dose-response vasodepressor effect and sinus bradicardia.
Antagonized β-Adrenergic.
Showed antidysrhythmic activity.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
