Description

ATF1 Protein, Human (His) expressed in E. coli with a His tag. ATF1 is a member of the ATF/CREB family of transcription factors (TFs), specifically interacting with the consensus ATF/CRE site ‘TGACGTCA’[1].

Background

Activating transcription factor 1 (ATF1) is a member of the ATF/CREB family of transcription factors (TFs), specifically interacting with the consensus ATF/CRE site ‘TGACGTCA’. CREB and ATF1 are required for t-Darpp upregulating Bcl-2 levels in resistance to ceramide-induced apoptosis in gastric cancer. Furthermore, expression of single chain antibody fragment anti-ATF1 in melanoma cells is found to suppresses the ATF1 tumorigenicity and metastatic potential in nude mice[1].

Molecular Weight

Approximately 34.8 kDa

Purity

Greater than 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.

Appearance

Lyophilized powder.

Formulation

Lyophilized after extensive dialysis against PBS, pH 7.4.

Endotoxin Level

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
