Background

CEBP gamma/CEBPG protein functions as a transcription factor, exerting its regulatory influence by binding to both the promoter and enhancer regions of target genes. It specifically binds to the enhancer element PRE-I (positive regulatory element-I) of the IL-4 gene, as well as to the promoter and enhancer regions of the immunoglobulin heavy chain.
